Parade of colors - 3 must see places in fall

Golden Polish autumn is a great time for native nature. Yellow tree crowns and orange leaf carpets are a picturesque painting that we all love. The undergrowth, rich in mushrooms, encourages morning walks. Autumn is an ideal time for qualified tourism. Check out 3 places where you will fully enjoy the charms of this wonderful season!

Experience the rutting season, at night

The Białowieża Primeval Forest is a forest complex located on the border of Poland and Belarus. The Polish part is 580 km2 of primary forests, in which no human intervention was involved. The bison is the symbol of the forest. The largest free population of this species in the world lives here. Near the village of Narewka there is Kosy Most with an observation platform. Here is a refuge for bison. In the period from September 1 to October 15, you can stay there from 4:00 to 23:00 and witness the rutting. At night, we can hear the calls of deer bulls, that is, a loud and low, bass roar. If you are lucky, you will be able to see them and even meet a bison!

The forest neighbor of the Tri-City

The Tri-City Landscape Park is one of the oldest parks of this type in Poland. It is characterized by a dense network of valleys, unique in the European Lowlands, which were formed as a result of the retreating ice sheet. 90% of the park is covered with forests, which together with the specific terrain make up an amazing landscape. It is an ideal place for autumn trekking along the trails where we can admire interesting flora and fauna. The Management of the Tri-City Landscape Park has published a guide called "Wandering around the Tri-City Landscape Park" containing 5 suggested routes. Each of them is described in detail and marked on the map. During the walks, we will meet traditional Kashubian huts, mound cemeteries, historical and nature monuments in the form of erratic boulders.

How about... Bieszczady?

At least once in a lifetime, there is a thought to quit everything and go to the Bieszczady Mountains! Why not do it in the fall? The beginning of October is the most colorful period. The tree stand then delights with the multitude of colors, and the length of the day allows for long hikes in the mountains. Wetlina is a village that is a popular starting point for mountain hiking trails. If we want to wander on less frequented routes, the village of Cisna can serve as such a base. At this time of the year, it is also worth visiting the entire San Valley lying at the foot of Otryt. The valley is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the entire Bieszczady!

Summary

Autumn is a captivating time of the year. To fully enjoy its values while hiking, it is worth being properly prepared. During mushroom picking, it is worth wearing rubber boots and a hat that will protect the neck from ticks. In autumn, you will also need a properly selected rain jacket and a warm sweater. For longer mountain trails, it is worth equipping yourself with comfortable trekking shoes and a tourist backpack.
