Canoeing in Lower Silesia - where?

Picturesque Lower Silesia has many charming rivers that are wonderful to explore by kayaking. Close contact with nature, the sound of water and pleasant warmth from the sun is a great recipe to relax with a group of friends or family. Most canoe routes can be used throughout the year. However, there are fragments to watch out for or, depending on the season, are impossible to flow. Here are 4 suggestions for a weekend trip.

Eastern Park in Wrocław

An easy section available for everyone who wants to go canoeing but doesn't want to leave the city of Wrocław. The start and destination can be reached by public transport. Canoeing takes place on Oława and Odra, and the section is less than 9 kilometers long. It takes 2-3 hours to complete this route.

Nielestno - Lwówek Śląski

The canoeing route is located on the Bóbr river and is about 20 km long. It takes 5 to 5.5 hours to sail. The entire route is located in the Bóbr Valley Landscape Park, which guarantees beautiful views. Canoeing begins at the bridge on the left bank of the Bóbr in the town of Nielestno. On this section, it is necessary to carry the kayaks in two places: at the bridge in Marczanów and at the dam in Dębowy Gaj. The trip ends at the weir in Płakowice (near Lwówek Śląski).

Jurczyce - Samotwór

This section is for experienced and persistent canoeists. With high Bystrzyca water level, the route is very difficult and dangerous. Suitable for people wanting to prove themselves in canoeing with obstacles. This section is 10 kilometers long and takes 5 hours to cross. It starts in Jurczyce and ends in the town of Samotwór, all is in the Bystrzyca Valley Landscape Park. Many fallen trees that force you to carry your kayak. Completing this tour gives a lot of satisfaction and provides an unforgettable experience!

Kruzberk - Branka u Opavy

This is a route suggestion outside the Lower Silesian Voivodship, but at close neighbors - Czechs. The section located on the Moravice River is 35 kilometers long and it takes 7 hours to cross it. Rafting takes 2 days - the first day we sail 3 hours and the second 4 hours. Several times a season popular events take place that attract tourists, also from abroad. A water drain is carried out from the artificial water reservoir in Kruzberk, which changes the nature of the river. Natural and artificial thresholds give a lot of extreme emotions to participants. The route can also be crossed in inflatable boats - the section is easier to sail, at the same time having fun.

What to take when going rafting?

Once you have chosen the rafting route that is right for you, you should be prepared for it. Regardless of whether the trip is easy or extreme, there is always a risk of tipping straight into the water. It is worth protecting yourself against getting documents, money or a phone wet.

A waterproof cover made of durable PVC, with a roll-top and Velcro closure, will successfully save your documents and your phone from flooding. The yellow color makes it easier to find the cover underwater.

For longer trips, when you need to take more things, a waterproof bag is perfect. Three-layer PVC laminate and welded seams effectively protects against water penetration.

If you do not want your cigarettes or other small items to get wet, check the waterproof box. Made of polystyrene, it has a rubber gasket and a neck tag. Thanks to this, you can always have the content with you. Also check the waterproof matchbox!

If you need to take notes during the trip, a waterproof notebook comes in handy. Special cards allow you to write on them when they are wet and the content is not erased. Pencil included.
